Veterans Day in Carrollton
The City of Carrollton will honor the service and sacrifice of local military members as well as their families with events during this Veterans Day weekend.
The Carrollton Senior Center will host the annual Veterans Day Celebration on Friday, November 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests will be treated to lunch and a patriotic concert performed by the New Horizons Band Dallas. Due to limited seating, registration is restricted to veterans and a guest, or to widow(er)s of a veteran and a guest. Pre-registration is required by Monday, November 5 for this free event. Sign up at the Carrollton Senior Center (1720 Keller Springs Road) or call 972-466-4850.
Don’t forget to check out the Veterans Memorial monument located in the breezeway outside of the Senior Center. The podium, installed two years ago on Veterans Day, is adorned with a message that reinforces the City’s commitment to recognizing all service members who make their home in the Carrollton community.
Vibes for Vets
The following day, a free Concert on the Downtown Carrollton Square (1106 S. Broadway) will be in remembrance of military members and their service to the country. The Vibes for Vets event begins at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 10. Texas country artist Dillon Myers will bring his tunes to the stage for an evening of music in tribute to America’s heroes. Myers is a rapidly rising talent with roots in Dallas.
Bring your favorite veteran, and join us for music, food, and remembrance of all military service members.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, a few dollars for the food truck, and their friendly canine companions. In case of rain, call the Special Event hotline at 972-466-9135 and press 9 for weather cancellations.
